Snapchat’s Newest Announcement Is Not Going to Sit Well with Users


If you’re an avid Snapchat user, you’ve probably noticed all the changes they’ve made to the app over the years. They have recently redesigned their whole look, especially with their discover page. It now showcases the discover partner sites with larger photos and headlines to grab your attention.

According to AdWeek, Snapchat is going to add a lot more advertising to the app. Apparently they are going to start showing video ads between your friend’s stories. They are working with movie studios, product manufacturers, and brands for the big launch. Just when you thought you could escape ads, this happens.

Good news though, The Verge has noted that you will be able to skip the ads just like you would anywhere else in the app and that the ads will not be incorporated in between snaps in an individual’s story.

The ads that they are working with are going to be produced by outside ad agencies and not by Snapchat’s team, so they will look different from the ads that are on the discover pages.

Lucky for Snapchat this will add a big payday for the company.
