If you are in need of a car but can’t afford to pay big bucks for it, you should check out a used subcompact model. More and more Americans are buying bigger vehicles so the price on smaller ones are becoming increasingly affordable.

The prices of subcompact cars have plummeted 26% to $6,683 in May of this year from the average price in 2010-2014. The price decrease is most likely due to low fuel costs and low demand.

With that being said, the prices for trucks and SUVs are on the rise. The average price for a used midsize SUV rose 11.4% higher in the first quarter of 2016. Used large car and truck prices are 9.3% and 7.2$ higher as well.
