How To Trick Yourself Into Saving

62

We all know how hard saving your money can be. Whether it’s because you are on a tight budget or because you like to go shopping. Either way, here are a few tricks that will get you saving money without it being a huge dent to your usual spending.

Make your savings a bill you pay
This method is known as the “Pay yourself first” bill. When you’re paying the bills, put $10, $15, or $20 in your savings and pretend you are just paying another bill and don’t think about it.

Save all your change
Coins can be a nuisance to have in your pockets or at the bottom of your purse. Just throw all your loose change in a jar and don’t touch it. It won’t be a noticeable way of saving and by the time you take it to a coin machine to count it out, you’ll have maybe over $100.

Decide on a number
Chose a number and at the end of the week look at your bills left in your wallet and see of that number is one of the bill’s serial ending number. If it turns out that it is put that amount in your savings!

Do the 52 week challenge
You want to start this challenge at the beginning of the year, but it can be done anytime. The whole idea is to save the amount of dollars that is the same week of the year. Therefore week one would be $1, week two would be $2, week three would be $3 and so on. By the end of the year you should have about $1,000 plus in your savings.

Save $1 and $5 bills
Whenever you get a dollar bill or a five dollar bill, save it. You won’t notice much especially because they are such small amounts. This will add up very quickly.
